About the Art
I’ve received a couple of questions about the art associated with The Tale of Rin as well as several questions about Rin herself. Though I can’t reveal any of Rin’s secrets until she lets me (you saw what she does to people who piss her off), I think it’s ok to address the art. At least I hope so.
The cover art (desert scene with an arm holding a patterned ball) was created by the incredibly talented Michael Heikkinen using a multi-layer soft-pastel technique he invented. His art can be found here:
The individual episode thumbnails (visible in the archive and on social media) are random tiles from the cover image.
The squiggly drawing used as a thumbnail for informational posts (like this one) is something I drew when I was bored one day. I used to draw lots of stuff like that but rarely have the time or patience these days. Before you ask, it isn’t a drawing of anything specific. In fact, a friend suggested it as an alternative to the Rorschach test — a Halpern test, if you will.
As it happens, it’s an excellent diagnostic tool for mental illness. To test yourself, stare at the image intently for 24 hours. If you did, you’re insane.
