Quick Update: Free subscriptions will have full-but-delayed access starting at episode 11
I’ve finally decided on my approach to paid vs free subscriptions. Rather than put up an impenetrable paywall, I’d rather that everyone have access to the Tale of Rin. However, paid subscribers will get quicker access. This is similar to the approach taken by many streaming services.
Beginning after episode 10, free subscribers will have access to new episodes 4 weeks (i.e. 8 episodes) later than paid subscribers.
To effect this transition, there will be a one-time 4 week hiatus for free subscribers between episodes 10 and 11.
Paid subscribers will continue to see new episodes every Wed and Sun without interruption.
Free subscribers will see new episodes every Wed and Sun until episode 10, then see no new episodes for 4 weeks, and after that (beginning with episode 11) see “new” episodes every Wed and Sun as well — but those episodes will lag the paid ones. Ex., when a paid subscriber sees episode 20, the free subscriber will see episode 12.
This way, everybody will get to read every episode — but paid subscribers get much quicker access.
