Hi Everyone,
Yesterday, The Tale of Rin reached a special milestone: 100 episodes. My thanks to you for helping make this happen.
Editing a novel to a fine polish is a daunting task. Serialization breaks the process into manageable chunks. However, serializing in isolation is no fun. It is you, the readers, who make this process fun and fulfilling. Although I haven’t strictly adhered to deadlines (especially lately), I find it very motivational to have an audience eagerly (or semi-eagerly or vaguely) awaiting the next installment.
The bigger the audience —- and the more people enjoying the work —- the better. So, I ask that you, my readers, spread the word. If you know anyone who may like The Tale of Rin, please share it with them. It is and will continue to be freely available in its entirety, so there is no downside to trying it out.
If you wish to show your support, please let others know about The Tale of Rin by whatever means you can. And if you feel a specific desire to show financial support, please buy the book(s) when they come out.
Let me take this opportunity to mention one other thing: I’m no expert on Substack or newsletters, and I have mainly focused on the writing and editing aspects of this project. If you have suggestions for how to improve the reading experience (via the website itself or the emails that are sent or any other aspect), I’d be grateful for them. I’ve tried to improve navigation, but I don’t have a reader’s perspective —- so please don’t hesitate to let me know if anything needs work!
For those who like statistics, the word count so far is 201,415, amounting to a little over 2000 words per episode on average. Approximately 1.3 of the books have been serialized so far (although much of book 3 and the remainder of book 2 have already been written). The Tale of Rin has been running for 650 days so far —- almost two years.
Thank you again for accompanying Rin on her journey so far. Things are about to get bumpy, so buckle up and enjoy the rest of the ride!
Cheers,
Ken
Thank yu Ken, I love this novel and I will do my best to spread the word. Ennio.
